Former Better Homes realtor wants non-compete overturned

By Hayley Fowler (August 24, 2022, 3:36 p.m. EDT) – A former broker and director of Better Homes and Garden Real Estate has asked a judge in a North Carolina state court to start the trial of the company alleging it violated a non-competition clause in its contract by joining a competitor, saying the agreement is invalid.

Better Homes had accused former broker Shannon Marie Brien of breaching the contract by joining another estate agency with a similar business model. But in a memo supporting her motion to dismiss on Monday, Brien argued that the non-compete agreement she signed makes no mention of business models.
