The Real Estate Institute of Queensland’s Auctioneer of the Year, Justin Nickerson, has been handpicked to auction the 2022 House for Life.
Plantation Homes and Mater Foundation have partnered with multi-award-winning real estate agency Coronis to pilot and manage the sale of the 2022 House for Life with five-time REIQ Auctioneer of the Year winner Justin Nickerson chosen to be the auctioneer on the day.
Coronis Real Estate, with offices across Australia, will donate its time and resources to generate as much interest as possible for the auction on 15e October 2022 where all proceeds from the sale of the house will go to Mater Little Miracles – to support critically ill and premature babies across Queensland.
Going under the hammer will be Plantation Homes’ magnificent two-storey Majestic 45, located in the upscale Surrounds estate, Helensvale. The beautiful family home has four spacious bedrooms, three generous bathrooms, two powder rooms and a two-car garage.
This house for life marks the 9e Plantation Homes has built and auctioned off a home with proceeds going to Mater Little Miracles, with over $5 million raised through sales of the last eight House for Life charity homes that were built beginning in 2008.
The project is the culmination of a collective effort of dedicated volunteers and vendors who donate their time and resources to build the house, which will be auctioned in the second half of 2022.
Alex Raleigh, Managing Director of Plantation Homes, said: “We are delighted that Coronis Real Estate and Justin Nickerson have joined us to help generate interest in House for Life.
“We are proud to join like-minded forces such as Coronis Real Estate and Justin Nickerson, who are both passionate about Mater Little Miracles.”
“I’m confident that Coronis will create fantastic momentum and interest in the lead up to, and on the day of the auction, as this is such a great community event. Next, it’s the turn of the very talented Justin, who will weave his auction magic to undoubtedly achieve a fantastic result for Mater. Mr. Raleigh added.
Andrew Coronis, CEO of Coronis Real Estate, said: “We have a long and rewarding relationship with the Mater Foundation which I believe has been beneficial to our clients and our entire team at Coronis. Giving is part of our DNA and we strongly support the work that the Mater Foundation does to provide world-class medical care to our community.
“We jumped at the chance with ‘House for Life’ because we can offer our services to a wonderful cause…and it will be great fun and good for our souls – two things we appreciate.”
The Mater Foundation’s executive director, Andrew Thomas, said more than 2,000 critically ill, premature babies are cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mater Mothers Hospitals in South Brisbane each year.
“The proceeds from this home will make a real difference to our resources and research so that we can continue to support families and their babies who need specialized care at Mater,” Thomas said.
Justin Nickerson says: “I’m extremely excited to be the House for Life auctioneer. Besides being a fantastic cause, it’s also inspiring to see how many people have donated their expertise to make this all happen, and I’m thrilled to play a small part in that.
“I love that as an auctioneer it has given me the opportunity to play a part in important occasions in people’s lives. The thrill of watching people secure their dream home never changed from the first auction.”
“We hope the day of the auction brings bright sunshine, a great crowd and an incredible sale result for the House for Life!”
