Real estate broker arrested for stealing 82 liters from a building site | Coimbatore News

Coimbatore: Police in Peelamedu booked a property broker for robbing the director of an 82 lakh property company on Thursday.
Management of a private hospital in Cheran Maa Nagar had alerted Sub-Inspector S Jayashankar about B Leo Mariya Irudhayaraj of Pothiyankadu in Karumathampattipudur in Coimbatore, Director of Sigaram Promoters in Tirupur who was admitted there with injuries.
Leo told police that he was overseeing the construction of Sigaram Garden at Jeeva Nagar on Vilankurichi Road. Ravikumar, a real estate broker, used to identify sites and sell them to the real estate company. He used to visit the site manager’s office in Jeeva Nagar.
“Leo received 82 lakh from his subordinate Bhoomibalan on Wednesday night and kept the money at home. He brought it to his office around 9:30 a.m. Thursday and kept it in the office locker. Ravikumar came to the office in a car around 10:15 a.m. with a hammer and a hacksaw. He attacked Leo and forced open the locker to steal the money. He also snatched Leo’s phone,” a policeman said.
After Ravikumar left the premises, Leo came out of the office and alerted the construction workers. He also contacted the owner of the company, Vijayakumar.
Based on Leo’s complaint, the police registered a case against Ravikumar under Section 394 of the Indian Penal Code.
A special police team went to Kerala to catch him.
